Breaking news: there are poor people of Chicago. They include families, the disabled and the elderly. They struggle with broken homes, lost jobs, unscrupulous landlords and other indignities visited upon people at the bottom rung of our society. Poverty also plagues the suburbs. Problems that overwhelm the inner city also exist in outlying areas with inadequate public transportation and services. Through Chicago Volunteer Services, thousands of attorneys are helping:
Since 1964, Chicago attorneys have provided free legal services to hundreds of thousands of Chicago's poor through their pro bono work with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
